I've been a graduate student for a little over 4 weeks now. So, I am no expert.
What I can tell you, is that being a graduate student is very different than being an undergraduate student.
1. You feel a greater level of responsibility for your education.-I used to have the mindset of "what's going to be on the test? I only want to know what is going to be on the test so that I can get the grade I want". Now, it is SO different. I am going to be responsible to help people, to increase their quality of life, to be the expert they look to for advice- I need to know everything!
2. You achieve a new level of trust- You remember when you went from high school to college and all of a sudden you could go to the bathroom in class with out asking? It was this huge new level of trust. Well I feel like going from undergraduate to graduate school is another jump on the trust level. I take tests on my computer with my study notes just one click away and I'm already responsible to treat clients with communication disorders.
3. It takes a lot more effort - I am at school/the clinic all day every day. Undergraduate was kind of that way, but I feel like I am putting in so much more effort/energy into each minute (probably tied to #1). This results in being pretty tired and a few more naps :)
4. You become very close with your classmates- There are 15 of us in the cohort right now. It's only been about a month, but I can honestly say that I know these girls (and guy!) are going to be some of my best friends.

I want to introduce you to one of my amazing sponsors! This is Victoria from Fashion Flirtation. She's absolutely adorable and I just love her style!
"I am 20 years old, currently based in Gilbert, Arizona, and recently celebrated 6 months with the love of my life. I have always had a passion for fashion, and I've been reading fashion blogs for a very long time, but a common factor I seem to find in each blog is how much they are spending on their outfits. And I don't know about you, but as a newlywed, that is just not something that I can afford to spend a lot on! I decided to start a fashion blog to show women that you can be fashionable without spending a fortune. Most of my clothing and accessories come from affordable places like Target, Marshalls, Old Navy, and Forever 21. I want women to know that looking amazing has nothing to do with how much you spend. I love finding great deals just as much as I love looking good, and that is what my blog is all about!"
