Apple Pie Caramel Apples

So, a couple of months ago, Scott and I discovered apple pie caramel apples at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and we fell in love. We had never heard of them before and I don't know how, because they are pretty darn amazing!! But, they are ridiculously expensive so we've only bought two for really special occasions.

Last week, I decided we would try to make them ourselves for family night and probably fail miserably but it would be fun anyway. I was totally surprised when they turned out. Then I was floored when Scott said they were better than the Rocky Mountain ones!!

Let me tell you, they were AMAZING. I'm really sad right now that they're all gone....

 Ingredients:
6 Granny Smith Apples (small to medium sized)
Sucker sticks
2 bags of Kraft Caramels
1 Bag White Chocolate Morsels
Cinnamon Sugar

Directions:
1. Melt Caramels as directed on the bag. I used 2% milk instead of water to make the caramel creamier. Make sure to stir constantly so it doesn't burn (even between dipping apples)
2. Dip apples in melted caramel, place on wax paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
3. Melt white chocolate morsels. We did this in our mini crock pot and it worked great! I'm sure it would work just as well on the stove at a low heat.
4. Dip the refrigerated caramel apples in the white chocolate (you'll want to do this as quick as possible because the chocolate hardens fast)
5. Roll or sprinkle with generous amounts of Cinnamon Sugar because not all of it will stick since the chocolate hardens quickly. And the Cinnamon Sugar is important because it is the perfect finishing touch!
